Choosing a Tox
written by Dr. Sarah Ludlow
Which toxin woks best for you?
You’ll often hear people tell you that they respond positively to one toxin vs another. Perhaps they might say that their forehead feels heavier when they receive one product vs another…maybe that one toxin lasts longer than the others, etc. However, what is the real difference between toxins? The fact is…not much. Clinically, each cosmetic toxin on the market is Neurotoxin Type A. Where they differ is the size of associated proteins that are attached. Some toxins have large associated proteins and some don’t have any at all. Interestingly, once they are blended with saline these associated proteins detach from the toxin itself and as a result they are ultimately all the same Neurotoxin Type A.
So….what’s the real difference?
Your injector. Their medical understanding of the anatomy and injecting the right product at the right concentration in the right places to get the results you want; that’s the real difference. At FACES STL we pride ourselves on our extensive and continued training in techniques to inject all areas of the face and to provide the muscle relaxation and lift that can be achieved with toxins.
Toxins can’t do it all, but in the right hands you can tailor the amount you receive to optimize their use. At FACES STL you will be working with a skilled, highly trained injector who will discuss an entire plan of care with you in the joint effort of reaching your aesthetic goals.
